Day 1: Meet and greet at the airport. Our driver will transfer you to your hotel and after settling to your room we leave the hotel to start our tour in Athens. Today we will visit the famous Acropolis universal monument of classical spirit and civilization, the new Acropolis museum which has been voted by The Sunday Times as the 3rd best museum of the world, the «Mars Hill» where Apostle Paul stood and preached to the Athenians philosophers, the Ancient Agora that was the first «parliament» of the world and the meeting point of the ancient philosophers and Faliro coast where we will see where St. Paul first arrived in Athens by ship. Return to the Hotel and overnight in Athens.
Day 2: Check out and pick up from your hotel, and we start our tour towards Thessaloniki in Northern Greece. On our way, we will visit Thermopylae (famous for the battle that took place there at 480 bC between 300 Greeks and thousands of Persians), the statue of king Leonidas, the new museum of Thermopylae with historical briefing about the battle of Thermopylae through digital applications and the wonderful Tempi valley. Later on, we will arrive at the biggest town of Northern Greece, in Thessaloniki. Free time to walk and enjoy the town that Apostle Paul preached and sent 2 Epistles "to the Thessalonians" and the coast of Thermaikos Gulf. Overnight in Thessaloniki.
Day 3: After breakfast we will visit the cathedral of St. Demetrius, patron Saint of the town. This cathedral is a place of worship of St. Demetrius and its crypts that we will visit where a hiding place for the christened Christians after St. Demetrius imprisoned and martyred there on 303 AD. The crypt was the center of St. Demetrius miraculous myrh that was gushing through his grave. Afterwards we will visit Rotonda, UNESCO's World Heritage Byzantine Site, and the emblematic White Tower, the famous Trademark of the town. We will leave to visit the small town of Nea Fokea. There «The Agiasma of St. Paul» is an underground corridor which ends to the chamber where Apostle Paul was hidden when people of Thessaloniki were running after him. Later on, we will reach the town of Kavala. Overnight in Kavala.
Day 4: Today we will visit «The Baptismal» site, where Lydia was baptized as the first European woman. Later we will visit Acropolis of Filippoi, the most important archaeological site of eastern Macedonia, with characteristic monuments of the Hellenistic, Roman and Early Christian periods, the Ancient Market, Basilica and Theatre. Filippoi is the town where Apostle Paul preached his first evangelical sermon, and later sent the Epistle to the Philippians, often referred to simply as Philippians, is the eleventh book in the New Testament. Paul and Silas first visited Philippi in Greece during Paul's second missionary journey, which occurred between approximately 49 and 51 AD and baptized the first Christians in Europe. Return in Kavala and enjoy your afternoon there. Overnight in Kavala.
Day 5: After breakfast we are heading to Veroia to visit Vergina’s archaeological site and its museum. The archaeological site is protected by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Monument and as an area of special natural beauty. In this must see museum we will discover the burial sites of the Macedonian kings, among the other graves and a funerary monument which is considered to belong to Great Alexander’s father, King Philip II. We will also visit the church of Apostle Paul and the made of marble «Vima of Apostle Paul», the place Paul preached to the people of one of his beloved towns for many days. We will have a stop for lunch in order to reach the beautiful city of Ioannina. Free time and overnight in Ioannina.
Day 6: We are going to have a great tour of Ioannina city where we will visit the town’s lake, the unique island of Ali Pasa, that is the only inhabited island on a lake in Europe and the wax museum where we will wonder through history. Overnight in Ioannina.
Day 7: Check out after breakfast to go through the beautiful town of Metsovo, one of the most picturesque towns of Greece. Later on we will visit Meteora a rock formation in central Greece hosting some of the largest Eastern Orthodox monasteries and the most precipitously built complexes between earth and sky. Today we will have a once in a lifetime experience by visiting two emblematic monasteries of Meteora. Overnight in Kalambaka.
Day 8: After checking out we will visit other two monasteries built in an environment of unique beauty. We continue our tour and we will go through the Ancient years by visiting the famous sightseeing of Delphi, with the ancient stadium, the oracle and the museum. You can choose if you want to stay for lunch at Delphi or Arachova, the most famous winter resort of Greece, located at 1000 meters altitude. Overnight in Athens.
Day 9: Today we are going to visit Paul’s beloved city of Corinth, the town that inspired many from Paul’s letters. We will also visit the Cathedral of St. Paul, the Ancient Market and we will walk at the same paths that Apostle of Nations walked and preached hundreds of years earlier. Moreover we are going to visit the archaeological site of ancient Corinth which has a great and important history as it was one of the most important and richest city-states of Ancient Greece. Later on we are going to visit Nauplio that will captivate your heart easily, a picturesque city of great history and beauty. Overnight in Athens.
Day 10: We pack our belongings, our souvenirs and unique memories to check out so we can transfer you to the airport for the flight back home.
Important Information regarding entrance to churches-monasteries:
Both ladies and gentlemen need to avoid bare shoulders or bare legs in order to avoid refusal of entry. For the ladies is better to wear long skirts even if in some cases long skirts are offered during the visit to the certain church-monastery.
