Pick up from your Hotel in the morning and we drive along the coastline from Athens to Peloponnese. First short stop after about 45 minutes at the breathtaking Canal of Corinth of 6 km length and 80m height! After this great photo stop, we continue and soon arrive at the unique Ancient Theater of Epidaurus, the most perfect ancient Greek theater, with regard to perfect acoustics and aesthetics, and with capacity of 14,000 spectators, attracts from ancient years till nowadays, millions of visitors for the performance of ancient drama plays.
After that, we will soon reach at the site of Ancient Mycenae, with the Great Cyclopean walls surround the almost triangular acropolis, and with the famous "Gate of Lions" and "Atreus King Tomb and Treasure"! In the second millennium BC, and with peak in 1350 BC, Mycenae was one of the major centers of Greek civilization, a military stronghold which dominated much of southern Greece, Crete, the Cyclades and parts of southwest Anatolia. The period of Greek history from about 1600 BC to about 1100 BC is called Mycenaean in reference to Mycenae.
We will then visit the Museum of Ancient Mycenae, and we will continue our tour to visit one of the most beautiful towns of Greece and its first capital city at the modern Greek history, the amazing and picturesque Nauplio! You can stroll at the traditional narrow streets of the town, visit some of the old Byzantine churches, or you can visit the Castle of the Town, with the 999 steps and the amazing panoramic view, or take a taxi boat to visit the small island of Bourtzi, at the entrance of the city’s harbor, the fort at the sea and Nauplio’s trademark! After a traditional lunch here we return back to Athens and at your Hotel late in the afternoon.
